Why Do I Have To Tithe?

How do you feel when you hear the word tithe? Do you cringe and get upset because you think someone is trying to get their hands on your money? Giving away your hard earned money can be a real challenge. But, let’s shed some light on what tithing actually is. Tithing is the literal act of bringing the first ten percent of your increase to the storehouse which is your local church. It is also the act of giving back to God, and by not giving back, you are robbing Him. That means the first ten percent is His! In scripture, God encourages you to test him in the area of your finances. He promises that if you bring your tithe into the storehouse, He will open up the windows of heaven and abundantly bless you. However, God can’t bless irresponsibility! You need to learn to live within your means and manage your money wisely. The blessing God's referring to is that when you tithe, you invite Him to be in control of your finances. Then He becomes both the source and protector of your resources. Tithing is all about demonstrating trust in God. He is your loving father who desires to bless you more than you could ask or even imagine! God wants the best for you! Give tithing a try for yourself and see what happens!
