Most of us at some point in time, have been asked the question “What keeps you awake at night?” The idea behind this question is that the fear and worry keeping us awake are a badge of honor and a source of inspiration. Our culture not only champions fear, it perpetuates it by continually using media to show us all of the ways in which we aren’t quite measuring up. The idea is that fear is a motivator for change. So what if I told you that Fear actually has the potential to KEEP you from reaching and achieving your dreams? We are called to live extraordinary abundant lives—and not just some of us, but all of us! Fear either traps you in the past or paralyzes you and keeps you from the future. The truth is that both of these scenarios hinder you from being fully present in today! They keep you from living the abundant life Jesus has promised for you! Did you know the statement “Fear not” appears 80 times in the Bible? God is clearly aware of the fact that humanity would be subject to fear. His repetitive nature indicates the seriousness of His encouragement to us– FEAR NOT! We’re going to let go of past behaviors, habits and relationships that are not good for us. We’re going to let go and stop hedging our bets. And we’re going to refuse to settle for less than ALL God has for us. How do you move on and combat fear? You have to recognize that you are NOT ALONE. God is with you. God will help you – He provides you with His strength. And He is holding you! FEAR NOT! So what if I told you that Fear actually has the potential to KEEP you from reaching and achieving your dreams? 2 Timothy 1:7: "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." BE FEARLESS! Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
