Taking Authors To Task - Self-Inflicted Word Count Challenge

Sandra’s been doing this thing lately with her fanfic writing. She’ll get an idea for a one-shot, but before you know it, the story has gotten all plotty, and the word count has run wild. So, Karlee gave her a challenge. Write a one-shot, one-scene, and keep it under 3K. But Karlee, the ever-loving friend that they are, agreed to have a go with the challenge as well. Then, Karlee’s beta, runawaydr3amer, provided a prompt, all agreed on the terms… and now here they are to talk about the fallout… um, fruits of their labor.

This is the episode for you if you are a fellow angsty writer who likes to punish themselves. If you are a fellow reader who wants to hear about a writer’s angst and self-punishment in pursuit of a completed work, this is the episode for you. And, yeah, they may have given themselves a short word count, but nobody said anything about keeping this episode at a respectable length.
