Have you ever experienced this before? Walking into a room and slowly noticing that no one looks like you?
It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this way, and attending a recent event reminded me of how painful this realization truly is.
As a mixed woman of colour, I’ve had my fair share of experiences over the years, but I haven’t experienced being the only person of colour in the room in a long time.
I know there is still a lot of work that needs to be done within companies and communities in order to ensure there is equality and diversity across the board. I also know it’s my mission to bring these conversations to light and transform the narrative within the spaces I’m in.
