This was a lively (and slightly sweary in places) conversation with Heidi about the ways standards in schools and mainstream education authorities (in the UK context) can become coercive and even harmful for some young people and their families.

Heidi describes herself as a late-identified, neurodivergent adult - she is a public speaker, advocate, author, podcaster, and parent to an Autistic/ADHD teenager. Author of best selling book "Your Child Is Not Broken", Heidi's passion for empowering families in their fight to secure suitable education for their children and young people comes from the challenges she worked through with her own son. She founded EOTAS MATTERS in 2019, to work with families so children can be supported by knowledgeable, confident adults who know how to get their voices heard. This episode is a little bit longer than usual - I think it's worth it!
