  1. Social-emotional Learning (SEL): SEL is comprised of 5 domains
    • Self-management: managing emotions and behaviours to achieve our goals
    • Self-awareness: recognizing our emotions and values as well as our strengths and challenges
    • Social awareness: showing understanding and empathy for others
    • Relationship skills: forming positive relationships, working in teams, and dealing effectively with conflict
    • Responsible decision making: making ethical, constructive choices about personal and social behaviour.

She is also the Program Coordinator, Youth & Children’s Studies and the Director at The Child and Adolescent Research and Education (CARE) Lab. She is currently working on studying the efficacy and sustainability of the ‘Superhero in Me’ program.

She believes that flourishing leaders build flourishing cultures. She is a Certified Flourishing Coach specializing in workplace culture and supporting leaders and educators in their growth journey. She is the owner of Nicki Straza Coaching & Consulting and works with Woodview Mental Health & Autism Services. She is an author, speaker and curator of developmental experiences and workshops.
