  • The hardening of Pharaoh’s heart:
    • I will harden [his/Pharaoh’s] heart (4:21; 7:3; 14:4, 17)
    • Pharaoh’s heart was/is/remained hardened (7:13, 14, 22; 8:19; 9:7)
    • Pharaoh/he hardened his heart (8:15, 32; 9:34)
    • The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh (9:12; 10:1, 20, 27; 11:10; 14:8)
  • Westminster Confession of Faith 3:1 “God from all eternity did by the most wise and holy counsel of His own will, freely and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass; yet so as thereby neither is God the author of sin; nor is violence offered to the will of the creatures, nor is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established.”
  • “Homework” for week 6:
    • Notice the pattern in these references: 25:1, 30:11, 30:17, 30:22, 30:34, 31:1, 31:12, and particularly the number of them and how it ends… what does this remind you of, and why might that be significant?
    • What unique, and particularly New Testament-esque, phrase is found in 31:1-11?
