Vivek Ramaswamy and DOGE Role

Vivek Ramaswamy, along with Elon Musk, has been selected by President-elect Donald Trump to lead a new entity called the 'Department of Government Efficiency' (DOGE), which is not a formal government agency. This group will operate from outside the government to provide advice and guidance to the White House, with the goal of driving large-scale structural reform, dismantling government bureaucracy, slashing excess regulations, cutting wasteful expenditures, and restructuring federal agencies. DOGE is a nod to Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, dogecoin, and will partner with the Office of Management and Budget. Since Ramaswamy and Musk will not be formal federal workers, they will not be required to disclose their assets or divest significant holdings, avoiding potential conflicts of interest. Ramaswamy, who suspended his own presidential campaign in January to support Trump, has a background as a hedge fund investor and the founder of Roivant Sciences, a biotech company. An old video of Ramaswamy's high school commencement speech has also resurfaced, highlighting his early thoughts on life and journey.
