Quincy Jones, a legendary figure in American music and a titan of the entertainment industry, passed away on Sunday at the age of 91 in California. He was renowned for his extensive contributions to music, film, and television. Jones played a pivotal role in assembling the iconic charity single 'We Are the World' in 1985, featuring artists such as Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, and Stevie Wonder, to raise funds for those affected by famine in Ethiopia. He also produced the film adaptation of 'The Color Purple' in 1985, directed by Steven Spielberg, and was instrumental in the creation of the popular television series 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,' which starred Will Smith. Additionally, he founded the music publication Vibe.
