El Fausto was a 14-metre fishing boat from the town of
Tazacorte, on La Palma in the Canary Islands. In July 1968, it set out with four men on a routine trip between islands — but never returned. Despite being sighted twice and even given supplies for the journey home, the boat mysteriously vanished again and again, before finally drifting back into view months later with only a single body aboard. To this day, the fate of
El Fausto remains one of the strangest maritime mysteries in Spanish history.
