Episode 63 - Sherri Rasmussen

The Sherri Rasmussen case shocked Los Angeles. In 1986, 29-year-old Sherri was found beaten and shot in her Van Nuys apartment, her death staged to look like a burglary. The case went cold for over 20 years—until DNA from a bite mark revealed her killer was a woman. That woman turned out to be Stephanie Lazarus, an LAPD detective and ex-girlfriend of Sherri’s husband. In 2012, Lazarus was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 27 years to life, exposing one of the most disturbing betrayals in true crime history.
