How to live by Priorities

The First Commandment—“You shall have no other gods before me”—is the foundation of all divine instruction. In a world of competing priorities, God calls us to give Him first place, not just a place.

In ancient times, this command set God apart from false deities, declaring Him Creator and Deliverer. Today, our “idols” may be career, possessions, or distractions that rival Him for our devotion.

Our true priorities show in how we spend our time, treasure, and talents. Do we put God first in our mornings, our worship, our finances, and the way we use our gifts?

Jesus summed it up: love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength—and love others. It’s not about perfection, but direction: moving toward God as our supreme love.
