The New College Athletics: UVA and the House Settlement

Preston welcomes back David Teel from the Daily Press to dive into a new era of college athletics following the House Settlement.

First Preston and David go over the basics of the House Settlement from revenue sharing to NIL to scholarships and the newly-formed College Sports Commission. Then David goes into how policing will go under the College Sports Commission and whether the House Settlement will really level the playing field.

Later Preston and David discuss how UVA has adapted in the new age under the House Settlement, including scholarship endowments, full commitment to revenue sharing in the revenue sports (Football, Basketball) and the new role Cav Futures will take on as NIL changes. They also look at how much pressure will be on football in the new landscape with such a big piece of the revenue sharing going to the sport. Finally Preston and David talk through where all this money will come from.
