Julia Govor is a DJ, producer and the owner of record label Jujuka. Growing up in Russia’s military camps, her love for arts and music has always been a great travel companion and pushed her to shape her own career and life as a journalist and eventually as an international DJ. She played events and clubs from Klockworks to OUTPUT (NYC), Basement (NYC), Tresor (Berlin), Exit (Croatia) and she has shared the booth with the likes of Jeff Mills, Nastia, Stephanie Sykes, Tommy Four Seven and many other.
In our conversation, we talk about living the lockdown, overcoming anxiety, learning not to judge others while we also go from her first experiences with music to her latest projects including sampling Villalobos. Aside from her existing projects, Julia is also working for her label Jujuka, to release and give a stage to aspiring artists from ethnic minorities worldwide. She is a force of nature with very clear principles and vision and her words also remind us that letting things go is a tool that we can use to become who we want to be and conquer our own freedom.
