The Spirit of John

To what are we called in the Gospel? Some people make that out to be a striving after perfection; instead of finding freedom in Christ, the streets are filled with formerly-churched people who have found that to be a crushing burden... sadly church pews are filled with people with that same experience. What can we learn from John the Baptist about the nature of true Christian discipleship?
