2003 - Space Shuttle Columbia Takes Off for Its Final Mission

NASA’s Space Shuttle Columbia launched on its 28th mission. Tragically, the shuttle disintegrated upon reentry on February 1, killing all seven astronauts onboard. This event reshaped NASA’s safety protocols and space exploration strategies.
