SERIES, Art That Pisses People Off, Part 2: Colorworks: Bland or Brilliant?

In the second part of ATPPO, we will explore artworks that are made up of color! Whether they are strictly one shade of one hue or not, the modernists' shared experiments with the power of nonfigurative, colorful artwork was among the defining focuses of 20th century art. Though these pieces can seem off-putting or seemingly simple, the philosophies behind some of the most iconic single- or few-colored works of the era were very personal and detailed.
