The PINTAIL. Its name in the Irish Language is ‘Biorearrach’. The Latin name is ‘ANUS ACUTA’. It is a duck. It is an AMBER LISTED bird in Ireland! The duck is heavily associated with ancient greek mythology and the story of Icarus/Odysseus. The Pintail is a migratory bird to be seen here from October to March on marshlands. Also called a Northern Pintail.
