The GREYLAG GOOSE. Its name in the Irish Language is ‘Gé Ghlas’.  The Latin name is ‘ANSER ANSER. It is an AMBER LISTED bird in Ireland! The goose and Greylag were once revered across Eurasia. It is associated with Gula the godess of healing. In ancient Egypt geese symbolised the goddess of love, Aphrodite. They are a big big heavy bird. Males are bigger. As geese go, they are one of the loudest you will hear.
