In this week's episode, Matt and Ryan travel to the year 1975 to listen to the fifteenth studio album by Bob Dylan called Blood on the Tracks. Although receiving mixed reception at the time of its release, this album has been praised by critics and fans alike as one of Dylan's best albums. Rolling Stone and Pitchfork have placed this album as one of the best of the 1970s. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2015.
Matt and Ryan tackle several topics throughout this review: How much of this album is influenced by the divorce of Bob and his first wife Sara? How well does Bob Dylan's voice sound in this record? How well does Dylan bring different songwriting styles to this album?
