I also talk about how listening to my body helped me break free from impossible standards, like trying to replicate my mum’s phenomenal cooking, and why leaning into what you want for Christmas is a game-changer.
Other strategies include grounding yourself with moments of peace (even if it’s locking yourself in the bathroom with a Baileys), scheduling nurturing activities for January, and setting boundaries that protect your time and energy. I share a story about one of my worst Christmases in Australia, where a strict schedule left me tense and overwhelmed—reminding me just how important it is to honour what feels right for you.
