Geoff Steurer is a good friend who has counseled individuals and couples for over 20 years  in strengthening and healing after infidelity.   Geoff shares the best practices of rebuilding trust once it has been lost.  He talks about his online trust building course and shares what really helps rebuild bonds:

1. Spouse who strays needs to make a crucial shift to focus on healing partner's pain. 
2. Create healing environment at home: be present and tuned in to their emotions.  
3. Create family culture of trust: admit that parents can be wrong and commit to full transparency. There will often be more grace & forgiveness than you expect.
4. Look for signs that trust is being lost--check regularly and refill, like checking oil in a car.
