On today’s Hello Houston, Ernie, Frank, and Celeste weigh in on the top stories of the day at the top of each hour including President Trump’s lawsuit with Paramount, a Texas bill that would give parents and school boards a bigger role in the books students can access in public school libraries, and more. 

In the first hour of the show, we talk with Harris County GOP vice chair Kyle Scott who joins us to discuss republican response to the “big beautiful bill,” including social security, Medicare and Medicaid, the country’s deficit, and more.

Then, author R. Lee Ingalls tells us about his new projects and his association with the famous family that his ancestor, Laura Ingalls Wilder, wrote about in her series of Little House on the Prairie books.

In the second hour, Hello Houston offers a final exit interview with Lisa Shumate who’s stepping down from her role as associate vice president and general manager of Houston Public Media and has been a guiding force in helping us create our new show.
