Today is our final day with the book of Romans, and we will be covering all of chapter 16. I don’t know about you, but it has been life changing for me. I’m not trying to be dramatic or boastful at all. When I tell you that the scriptures we have studied here come to my mind daily, I mean it. I don’t want it to be over, and it’s not, for me! I’m actually going through Romans with my home Bible study group as well, but at a much slower pace. We’re studying a chapter a week, so I’ll be in Romans for the next three months! Thank you Jesus, because I don’t want to be done with it, and I don’t think it’s done with me.

I don’t know when I’ll do another reading plan, but I hope that this one has helped you to see how all of the tips and tools for Bible study that we have talked about on this podcast come together to make Bible reading more enjoyable and understandable. We’ve used perspective, we’ve talked regularly about our purpose for reading by asking “What do I learn about God from this?” We’ve talked about prayer and how to incorporate it into our studying, we’ve read from different translations, I’ve shared a few different commentaries and study helps that I use, and I definitely think we’ve had to be patient. You can do it! You don’t need my help. Go ahead and pick your next book, and start reading and studying on your own, or with a friend, or, my personal favorite way to study, with a home group!

Speaking of friends, the past few days of study have been about relationships, and what chapter 16 shows us is that Paul was more than fit to teach us on the topic. He mentions so many people by name in this chapter, but I don’t want that to scare us off. This isn’t like the genealogies listed in the Old Testament. Those are important too, and they have their place in our Bible studying, but this chapter gives us a little more context for some of those names. We won’t talk about them all, but I do want to point out a few.

You ARE a Bible reader.
You CAN understand God's Word.
You WILL be changed by what you learn.

And, in turn, the Word of God will change your family, your community, and your world.
