I am so excited to wrap up chapter 11 with you all today, and talk about all the things I didn’t get to talk about yesterday. But first, let’s review. Do you remember what the metanarrative is? A metanarrative is an overarching account of events and circumstances, or stories, that provides a pattern that explains all the little stories it encompasses. And the metanarrative of the Bible is Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. In chapter 11, we see the same pattern for the Gentiles! I told you a couple of days ago that every now and then we get a glimpse of ourselves in scripture. Here we are! And by “we” I mean the Gentiles.
Verse 15 tells us that the Jews’ rejection of Jesus means the reconciliation of the world. That’s restoration! I told you yesterday that we would learn some really great and amazing things about God in this chapter, too. And there are going to be a few scriptures that confirm, even more, what we have learned about him already in the book of Romans… well that’s in this section here.
You ARE a Bible reader.
You CAN understand God's Word.
You WILL be changed by what you learn.
And, in turn, the Word of God will change your family, your community, and your world.
