#8 Where do we make friends now? The loss of third spaces

Coffee shops, parks, pubs, malls and gyms are some examples of third places that are slowly fading from our everyday lives. Whether it’s because of to the gentrification of urban neighbourhoods, the rapid inflation of consumer goods, or the housing crisis confronting the youth, finding a stable hangout spot seems tougher than ever.

Is the rise of digital platforms and social media starting to replace face-to-face interactions? Or maybe it’s the never ending work grind that will turn offices into the next 3rd places?
