It's IBS Awareness Month. About damn time!

I say the more people hear about IBS the better...

This April the International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) is launching a social campaign called Raising Awareness About the Real Impact of IBS.

April is IBS Awareness Month, meant to shed light on the serious impacts of IBS beyond digestive discomfort.

As we all know far too well, while the physical symptoms of IBS are agonizing, IBS can also cause significant mental impacts via the stress, anxiety, and depression that can come along with it.

At work it can be hard to manage symptoms, and severe IBS can lead to missed workdays, reduced productivity, and limited career growth.

And this enrages me, but many people still feel that IBS is a stigma. There is a lot of fear that others will dismiss it as a minor inconvenience rather than a legitimate health condition.

This is why IBS Awareness month is meant to promote understanding and offer compassion to those living with IBS.

It’s about damn time!

You are not alone.
