IBS quick tip. Peel, skin, chop, and/or cook fruits and vegetables...

Try to physically remove or break down insoluble fiber from foods before you eat them to minimize the risk to IBS.

How?

Always peel, skin, chop and/or cook fruits and vegetables.

Feeling stable? Leave some of the skin on (stripe half that zucchini or cucumber). Not feeling remotely stable? Stripe it all off.

This is where there are fifty shades of gray with IBS. Key things to how your gut is feeling - and that can fluctuate, so roll with it.

Mash or puree beans, corn, peas, and berries.

Feeling stable? Mash half the bowl. Not stable? Blitz into blender soups and smoothies.

Finely chop nuts, raisins and other dried fruits.

De-stem and shred fresh leafy greens and herbs.

Not stable? Swap raw greens for ones cooked till meltingly tender.

You are not alone.
