Herbs as medicine for IBS? Yep. Fennel is top of the list...

The idea that herbs are nature's medicines really applies to IBS. Top of the list is fennel, Foeniculum vulgare, which is exceptional for IBS bloating, gas, and spasms.
Big bonus! It's also really helpful for upper GI issues like heartburn or acid reflux.
This makes it the safety net herb for people who cannot tolerate peppermint.
Fennel has anti-spasmodic properties, and is a carminative - an agent that prevents the formation and helps the expulsion of gas in the gastrointestinal tract.
Using fennel every day will actually help prevent bloating and gas in the first place, but if you're already suffering fennel can give quick relief.
Brew whole fennel seeds into a high volatile oil tea and drink as often as you wish.
You are not alone.
