IBS restaurant tip. When you read menus look for these...
Choose low fat, trigger free, high soluble fiber meals.
On restaurant menus look for low fat, high soluble fiber based meals.
Think seafood or skinless chicken breasts broiled or baked, with rice or potatoes.
Choose items that are poached, steamed, or grilled.
Resist the fried options and cream sauces. Avoid the red meat and dairy.
For delis lean towards tuna or shaved turkey breast sandwiches. Mustard is fine (a digest aid actually!) but hold the mayo and cheese.
At Asian restaurants ask for steamed veggie or shrimp dumplings, noodles, rice cakes, or stir fries over rice. Simple sushi rolls are almost always a safe bet.
