IBS news flash. No more blanket diagnosis. Is it IBS or something else?
IBS is misdiagnosed all the time, and used to be a blanket diagnosis...
The symptoms of IBS can overlap with other conditions, including celiac, IgG4-RD, giardiasis, IBD, diverticular disease, and food poisoning.
IBS used to be considered a blanket diagnosis but that is no longer the case.
Current IBS diagnostic practices must follow the specific Rome Criteria.
You are not alone.
