In a Tenant Remedies Action, a tenant can sue for the same items as in a Rent Escrow Action:

• A violation of an oral or written rental agreement or lease. [Minn. Stat.
• Lying and deception. unlike “lying,” “deception” implies success. An act must actually cause someone to have false beliefs in order to count as a case of deception. Intentional false statements need not succeed in deceiving others in order to count as lies.
