Dealing with a dark cloud

Every so often a dark cloud hovers over me and makes me question my whole reality and sense of self. Most times, I cant tell if the darkness is meant to be enlightening for something bigger on the other side or if its just a hard time in my life that has to pass. Regardless its here so were dealing with it, but how?
