What happens when love for your neighbors collides with violence and corruption? Jill sits down with Kurt to trace four decades in Honduras, how he and his wife, Joanne, listened, learned the culture, and formed ASJ to confront systemic harm with practical, proximate love. You’ll hear how a simple “next right step” (hiring an ex-cop investigator and a lawyer) helped solve homicides in their own neighborhood and dramatically decreased killings over time, and how that grassroots work later informed national efforts to reform policing and pursue justice. You’ll also hear about a historic prayer march that united Protestant and Catholic leaders and drew hundreds of thousands to pray for peace and democracy - an image of the church shoulder-to-shoulder for the good of a nation. This is a tender, courageous look at faithful presence, structural change, and why “perfect love drives out fear.”
