Friend, when you and I pray, we set a supernatural process in motion. In Revelation chapter 8, we see our prayers are supremely important to God, they are supernaturally energized, and they are soberly efficacious. The prayers of the Saints is the catalyst for the outpouring of God's wrath in final judgement. The first four of seven trumpets that call forth the divine action are featured in this chapter. This is the most serious subject we can discuss, so hold tight and stay with the show to the last note of music is played - in the end the podcast closes out with some encouraging and comforting words from Psalm 46.
As featured in the Geneva Bible Study Notes, the verse breakdown for the seven cycles of judgements, each of which leads to a description of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ:
4:1-8:1; 8:2-11:19; 12:1-14:20; 15:1-16:21; 17:1-19:10; 19:11-21; 20:1-15.
"Studies in Revelation-Lesson 16: The First Four Trumpet Judgements" notes by J. Hampton Keathly, III, were used in the preparation of this podcast. It appears since that original posting the study may now be in book form. Anything he writes is worth the read!
