Hope, Courage, Confidence in 2023

Y2K, 9/11/ the Gulf War, The Pandemic...the beginning of a constant tumultuous life being the norm in America. The capture of the world's mind toward tension and disaster. Fear, terror, war, pandemic, lock downs, more war, and so it goes. Anxiety, depression, and fear are at an all time high. Pay attention to all of the prominent people, the heads of the pack, in all the chief industries of our nation who admit to severe anxiety and depression that requires medicine to cope. As King David reflected on the truth that the Lord is his light, salvation, and stronghold of life, it calmed his fears and sense of dread resulting in a consistent comfort, and embedded in him courage for the time to come. In Psalm 27:3 he declared “Though a host should encompass me, my heart will not be afraid; though a war breaks out against me, I will still be confident.” Fearlessness and confidence can be our unwavering life position as we surf the waves of these turbulent times, because we facing these days in the power and strength of our faithful and loving God. This podcast is an adaption of the writings of puritan author Richard Stibbes, found in his open source material, “Works, Volume Three."
