Against the backdrop of the gross outpouring of evil in our country, there are signs of the Holy Spirit of God beginning to move in a major repulsion of the evil. In Nehemiah 9, the nation of Israel had set aside a time of fasting and mourning for their sins and the sins of their ancestors. They spent an extended amount of time reading from the book of the Law of the Lord, confession, and worship of the Lord their God. As the leaders led the people in this time of collective worship, they confessed and celebrated that God had sent His Good Spirit to instruct them. We are too often guilty of the sin of forgetting the Holy Spirit. He deserves our remembrance, and the awareness and acknowledgement of His presence in our lives, for he is good, supremely good.
