The universe is a vast, empty vacuum of nothingness, dotted here and there with noxious gasses and dead rocks. Earth, however, is a teaming, mutating, breathing, chaotic ball of lush life. Organic matter is embedded in every inch of this rich biosphere. From bacteria to phytoplankton and dodos to platypus, life has covered the Earth for eons. There’s dead dinosaur juice in the ground and there’s dead skin cells on your cell phone. As you breathe in the mites in front of you and exhale carbon based organic air, rest assured that the capitalistic corporate monoliths have slapped a Trademark on the word ‘Organic.’ Indeed, in the modern era, a word that used to mean ‘any substance associated with Life,’ now means ‘your salad costs six more dollars.’
