From her bio: Teresa was born in the Philippines and emigrated to the US with her family when she was a baby. Teresa grew up listening to the stories of her father, who was a child during World War II, and have always been inspired by his tales of surviving in a small barrio, escaping to safety in the mountains, and minding the elders' stories of the many monsters and mythical forces that inhabited the landscape.
