Cinemark announced plans to open 18 new ScreenX panoramic theaters in the United States and two in Latin America by 2026, expanding its partnership with CJ 4DPlex. ScreenX technology extends the movie screen onto auditorium walls to create a 270-degree viewing experience. The expansion targets major film releases and responds to declining theater attendance as more Americans choose home streaming. Cinemark reported a first-quarter 2025 revenue decrease to $541 million and a net loss of $39 million, with a market capitalization of $3.1 billion.
