645 Ventures marks its 10th anniversary, showcasing a software-driven investment strategy. Founders Aaron Holiday, with a software engineering background from Goldman Sachs, and Nnamdi Okike, who spent years at Insight Partners, launched the firm with an $8 million seed fund in 2014. By late 2022, they raised $350 million across two new funds. Their proprietary software for sourcing seed-stage investments and unique deal-sourcing model allows the firm to evaluate the potential of thousands of companies monthly, focusing on those often overlooked. Over 50% of their seed investments advance to Series A, and several portfolio companies have been acquired or gone public. The team has grown to 21 members, with plans to invest in 30 companies from its fourth fund, keeping 80% of select fund resources for follow-on investments.
