Apple agreed to a $35 million settlement over a class action lawsuit concerning faulty audio chips in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models. The lawsuit, filed in 2019, claims that these devices had audio issues affecting their calling and voice features. Apple, while denying the allegations, will compensate eligible U.S. residents who reported the issues between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023. Those who paid for repairs may receive between $50 and $349, and those who only reported issues may receive up to $125. The average repair cost was $193. The deadline to file a claim is July 3, 2024.
