Good evening let’s ponder about London, hospitals and losing track in Bede’s narrative

Hello thank you for joining me as we leap forward apace into 2025. The moon is already a waxing gibbous, St Valentine’s is around the corner, and Bede talks at us rather with another Wulfhere and Ecgfrith.  It’s cold in England and I am pining for the streets of London as I’ve been cooped up in hospital with my poor ailing mother.  She is so vulnerable with me now and I’ve been doing the sorts of things we hope we’ll never have to do, but when faced with them, we just get on with the job, with tender hearts and with pity.   And what a wonderful word: pity.  I’ve bought too many books again this evening, but there are worst naughtinesses 😁 A very good and restful night to you and thank you for your company 🫖
