Hot Take: Prequels can make or break a series. Look, it took Maddie a whole month and half to get through this book and it left her so unmotivated to get to Heir of Fire but THANK THE SUN GODDESS, she finished it and moved on! Maddie had just finished Heir of Fire that we recorded over Assassins Blade it is heavily evident that she just wants to move onto the third book lol. But, let us appreciate what this prequel has done for Maddie and her reading journey of Throne of Glass and has given her so much context for the other books and makes every devastating discovery even more detrimental, lol.
