It's like when you're recording to you have to get the giggles out first.
Speaker 2 0:15
We can do that. Welcome back to the *go your own way* Podcast. Here to remind you that you are an artist and your creations are needed in this world. We need you so let's express let's create let's go!
Speaker 1 0:38
That thirst that's the desire to learn and get better at those things. If I thought my art was perfect all the time, I think I would fail as an artist because I would just be too wrapped up in myself to like be inspired.
Speaker 2 1:46
let's hear from each one of you. I would love to hear you just share your name or what name you go by with your art or your music or your craft and a little bit about what you do and we'll go there so this can be really free flowing. If you don't have a response to something don't feel pressure to say anything. But if we want to go on on a certain topic more than another, we can totally just flow with wherever we want to go. So yeah, wants to lead us.

I'll do it. Hi everyone. My name is Surina Slack I'm from Carlise and I'm a painter. I use acrylic as my main media. And I've got a little table right down there if you guys are interested in checking your wine art while you're here, and I was invited here by Ruthie and Natalie because they're familiar with my art and I'm a fan of their music. I'm a fan of Chris and Natalie's music. I've seen them both live. It's wonderful. And I'm really happy to be here

though, James I go by Squonk is my artists name after the Pennsylvania's cryptid I make electronic music. I was invited here by Ruth Natalie had told her about my music I like to make same kind of music as Chris does being most familiar with with his tunes and and again, just the opportunity to come around with other like minded people and share about art and hang out seemed like pretty good time.

some and I'm Ruthie Lerato I'm make songs. I have been playing the piano since I was seven and started playing in church as the church pianist. It was a requirement because my dad was a pastor. And I've been writing songs my whole life and I feel really inspired by artists that are leading the way that are already doing it and I as well I'm so inspired by Natalie and do mandala and all of you guys here today. So question is I'd love to hear like what was going on in your life when you first decided you wanted to create and wanted to go on this path of exploring your art forms, whatever they may be. Can you remember a time when age or what was happening and have
Speaker 1 4:42
a really easy answer to this question. And when I was 27 I legally changed my first name, which was quite a transformative process. And incidentally, like these two things didn't really have anything to do with each other but I just decided to pick up painting again as a hobby because I showed a lot of interest in it when I was a kid, but I was going through such like a metamorphosis I guess in my life that I just found that a lot of things that like clicking into place and the minute I picked up acrylic I was enamored with it and I found that I had an affinity for it. And I've dabbled in other art forms throughout my life.
