This week, Gerard spoke with Rick Roberston (Chair of the Bengworden Landcare Group) and group members Rose and Louie Maher.


The Mahers are one of several farming businesses embarking on a two year trial looking at multi species crop cover on the Red Gum Plains between Sale and Bairnsdale.


The group is hosting a 'Ute Tour' of several sites on Monday January 18.

*Demonstration sites have been established across the district and summer cover crops are ready to be viewed.
When: Monday 18/1/2021 at 9.30 am
Where: Laurie and Robyn Williams, 977 Boundary Road, Bengworden.


We will then visit Cover cropping demonstration sites at the Reed, Deery and Robertson properties.
At the sites we will be:
- reviewing crop progress
- discussing challenges
- sharing experiences
Lunch is BYO. Tea and coffee provided.
