When life gives you a first date do-over, for the love of god TAKE IT.

Your Man Alex Smith joins us again with a couple of first date fails to make you laugh and cringe (and one that’s actually pretty lovely).

Alex has a show coming up in Fringe Brisbane and you should totally go! October 16 and 21. Tickets can be purchased here:

SLOW BURN: Blurring the line between rock concert, cabaret and musical theatre, Your Man Alex Smith’s genre-hopping concept album ‘Slow Burn’ has been brought to the stage at last. From 80’s power ballads to jazz duets, Smith’s hook-driven songs tell the true story of a doomed romance while exploring themes of trauma and the cycle of abuse.

“‘Slow Burn’ is not just something to listen to and enjoy, it is an album to experience” – Emily Hollitt and Malina Claire, Good Call Live

“A dynamic creator with an aptitude for traversing genres and layering meaning in poetic-like prose” – Mimm, Music Is My Muse

Want to get a peak of what you’re in for? Just look for ‘Slow Burn’ by Your Man Alex Smith on Spotify today!

Brisbane-based musician Your Man Alex Smith sets out to find the perfect blend of musical theatre and rock. Using catchy hooks to sneak contemplative lyrics to the listener, Alex’s genre-hopping theatrical rock is a story-driven experience with a lot of heart.

While Alex is inspired by bands like Queen, Meat Loaf, Pink Floyd and The Protomen, his sound is often compared to the likes of They Might Be Giants and Ben Folds.
