Meditation can be a state of being. The State of meditation manifest when we become completely and mindfully present. In meditation, we accept the present moment for what it is and through this acceptance, we are living within the present moment holy and completely. When in a state of meditation, we no longer travel into the future or the past with our mind. We become totally present and mindfully grounded in the now. The most compelling tool that can be used to accomplish this is our breathing. When we focus our attention to intentionally watch or follow the breath, we're able to come back to the present moment. We can use the breath to anchor our mind to the very moment when we're taking in the breath. The breath is a direct pathway from the mind to the body and allows our whole being to come into the present moment. Creating awareness of the breath not only assist with achieving a meditative state, but it also helps us become more mindful in our everyday life. We breathe many times a day and are often unconscious of this process. Unconscious breaths are usually shallow and superficial, only filling and emptying the lungs partially. it is more common to see people breathing this way, using only their chest to breathe. This type of breath does not allow proper release of stale air and toxins from the inner recess of the lungs. This is why learning to breathe fully, properly, and consciously can vastly improve our health.
