John 18-20  | Jesus was betrayed by his close friends, wrongfully accused, beaten by officials, mocked by many, crucified by his own people, and buried in a tomb. What kind of king is this? For those who followed him, it seemed that all hope was lost, yet Jesus was revealing that His kingdom is not from this world. He operates from a separate set of standards. In obedience to the Father, He endured the sufferings and the brutality of the cross to complete the work of redemption. Jesus, the suffering Son of God is the Christ who provides the way for humanity to be restored back to God the father and have eternal life in His name.

Hebrews 5:8-9 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.
