Luke 24:13-36 - It’s Sunday afternoon of resurrection day. “The black day of the crucifixion is past; the succeeding day, the Jewish Sabbath, when the weary one slept in his rock-hewn tomb, is also past; the first day of a new week and a new era has dawned.” As Jesus attached himself to these two gentlemen on the Emmaus Road, Jesus witnessed two people who displayed a sad countenance, depression overshadowed their conversation, and their expectations were thwarted.
